2.9 engine miss?

code 12 you probably did not prep properly for the test the first time 25 you did not do the goose test no knock sensed 21 not at normal coolant temp do you have a 195 degree tstat in maybe that is the problem I like to buy the expensive tstat they allways last longer 12 and 21 both say engine temp get them to go away then address the 33 if it comes up again the goose test or dynamic response is when you get a single light 6 to 10 sec after it tells you how many cylinders you have go to wide open throttle momentarily. anyway 67 is neutral safety signal shift thru the gears just prior to test thats a hard fault would not worry about it does the idle kick up a notch when you shift out of neutral thats the curb idle adjustment

I could never get the code 31 to go away. 33 says the egr is not closing all the way but you need to correct the codes in order 12 21 first then 33 then 67 did you adjust the curb idle

Nevermind on curb idle. 67 is neutral safety switch check for operation it says vehicle in gear or A/C on

code 67 - this truck is a 5 speed. Sounds like you are describing an automatic?

drove the truck for a while. Then it sat in the driveway for 45 minutes before tests. Did not re-warm before KOEO test. Started truck and ran 1st KOER test and got the 12,21, 25. I always get the 25. I did perform the goose test, or I would have gotten the 77 code. Truck was up to full temp by 2nd KOER test and only got 21 (&25) code. T-stat is a 195 degree. A/C was not on. ??

Just thinking about it if the knock sensor is bad the timing wont retard under a load could be your problem

I cant remember if you checked that already mine was good but the connector was all greasy cleaned with carb cleaner and squirted some dielectric grease in the connector and worked good after that

I do have another one..... Still in the oil pan! and no I have done NOTHING with the knock sensor.....didn't even think about it even though I was blowing 25 codes......
So if the knock sensor is bad, it will cause the lack of power and "miss" issues? Even though the engine is no longer pinging?

oil pan....no. Gotta find its location but I do have one. Holding it right now.

25 Knock sensor not tested (ignore if not pinging) - KS

That is why I ignored it. Wasn't pinging

hmmmmmmmmmmm. gonna clean that up real well, clear the codes and try again.

you wont hear the ping or i didnt on mine after i got it timed what it does is retards the timing similar to the vacuum when u step on the gas and as the pinging goes away it advances it maybe you can clean the one on there up I dunno they are torqe sensitive if too loose or too tight they dont work proper and work on a milli volt signal to the computer and yea they are expensive did you try ebay

Why would the sensor not be tested by the diagnostics? or is the language of the code description confusing.
