Did you consider checking the junkyards for a complete 2.5 engine and taking the parts from one? A low mileage engine would be best...probably pick up a whole short block for $200...

Well the main junkyard around me is stupid and has like 6 different prices for different motors

I know what you mean and how they can be stupid, but just thought after you price out new parts plus machining and all that comes with the build process you might be a bit farther ahead...but I'm thinking more along the lines of my own situation...where monkeys are tight and sheep are nervous...

I know, im expecting to spend at least 1k on the engine, parts, and machining and like 400 for the transmission and clutch kit, probably around 2-2.5k total.

From what ive read in peoples comments and threads the 8-plug head started 3 years later in mustangs, so they shoild be 4-plug roller heads, with the small main journal correct?

There is 12 engine options, from no access to engine package all they to 454 and i have no idea what to expect to spend, because renting the hoist is also necessary -.- so it could cost 1k alone for the engine
