I don't use them either, oil is meant to do what you are going to do with it. Additives don't really help, unless you are putting zinc on. Zinc has excellent wear protection, and actually makes a difference a bit, but its expensive.
Lucas stabilizer is raw oil, and raw oil is stickier, and it also gets into the seals and actually distorts the rubber by making it swell, that's how they make it a stop leak. Lucas is only ok to use as a quick fix if the car burns out a ring, or gets a bad seal leak. Other than that, prolonged use is actually bad overall for the system.
Larger valves allow for more air flow in & out of the engine = more horsepower. H-beam rods are typically heavier, but most always stronger than regular I-beam con. rods & they are used in high-HP and/or forced induction engines.
Most h-beam rods are made of stronger steel than the forged I beams. They tipically weight close to the same, some more and some less. On 2.3's the h beams are actually a bit lighter than the stock I beams. They are a necessity for anything over 450 hp, as is a new crank. Under that, its not cost effective to buy new parts, unless you want to turn 8000 rpm all the time. Then the stock rods and crank will not last very long.
Alright, cuz i wanna do the stroke kit, as this thread is for, so i was gonna purchase a 2.5 crank kit, but i would need rods and i cant find stock 2.5 rods
