Yeah, if there's an issue with the signal wire then it could be an issue. Aftermarket TFI modules are known to be iffy as well.

How do I test it? And the tfi would affect the signal to the injectors?
 
I think parts stores can still test them but I don't know how reliable it is as bad modules give similar symptoms to what you're saying I think...

There's a pickup coil thing in the distributor that the TFI module interprets for rpm and timing signal then sends that signal out to the computer for injection. I believe I have the mode of operation correct, assumption based on the GM Voyager system we use at work that's fairly similar but more robust...
 
New ecm and new battery. Still not running. I’m all out of ideas
 
So I just re timed everything and got that sorted. I put a noid light on my injector harness and the only way I can get a strong light is opening the throttle to a certain position. Would that mean my throttle body position sensor is bad?
 
AFAIK, the only thing the TPS should have to do with injectors firing is if it's reading WOT (IIRC 4.5v+) that disables the injectors for "flood clear mode".
