2.3L ('02-'11) 2.3 Engine block for 2005 XL and 2006 Ranger STX

Throwing it out there. I have a 2005 2.3 xl 2wdr with automatic trans. I know of a 2006 2.3 Ranger STX with manual transmission. Finding these used engines is tough as hell. At least in Oregon. Q - are the 2.3 in the 05 and 06 the same? I'm hoping to rebuild the short block as mine has a hole in the block. I have to drive 100 miles to look at the 06 engine.

Yes, they are the same long block 2001 thru 2011, 2005 and 2006 should be plug and play

Transmissions don't matter on engine swaps, you will need to remove the flywheel on the manual trans engine, and install the Flexplate from automatic engine to replace it
