I have a blown 3.0 Vulcan FFV in my 1999 Ford Ranger and I found a 2002 Ford Ranger with the 3.0 in it and I was wondering if the 2002 motor would match up with all the connectors from the 99

Welcome to TRS :)

It might be plug and play, I don't have engine wiring specs for both years

But for sure you can swap upper and lower intakes so fuel injectors and wiring connectors match up.
And check if they have the same oil pans, i.e. 2WD or 4x4

Flex Fuel engines needed larger injectors, so your computer will be set up for that, so if '02 is not flex fuel you for sure need to swap injectors

Always replace rear main seal when an engine is out

Might be cool to take the opportunity to try a 4.0 in there, despite added cost of other parts!

I Found the 2002 motor in a ranger but it had an under dash fire. He was the motor and tranny are good but because of the fire it doesn't start because of the wiring. How can I tell if its good???

You could bring a battery, jumper cables, short jumper wire and a compression gauge

Remove all spark plugs first
Unhook starter motor wires, should be two of them
Hook jumper cables up to starter and engine ground
Put short jumper on the positive jumper cable, at the starter motor, you will touch the other end of this wire to the "S" connector on the starter to activate starter, so make sure it can't short to Ground

Make sure radiator is full of coolant or water
Crank engine over a few times with no spark plugs, it should rotate very fast
Listen for any knocking or tapping sounds
Watch spark plug holes for any vapor coming out, i.e. blown head gasket/cracked head

Then test each cylinder for compression
3.0l runs 9.3:1 ratio so expect about 160-165psi at sea level, a little lower if above 2,000ft elevation
