Hi everyone. I have a 1998 Ranger XLT 4.0 5 speed manual SuperCab. A previous owner removed the carpet for some reason and I bought new carpet from Stock Interiors.
Since I don't have the original carpet to use as a template and the carpet is larger than actually needed - and noted by Stock Interiors, it's unclear where I should position the carpet and I could really use your help.
It makes sense to start at the front and then work it towards the back and I think using the heel rest pad position as a common reference point also makes sense.
Relative to the driver's door frame, where does the back edge of the heel rest line up on your Ranger (see picture)? Maybe the plastic trim piece that secures the carpet along the door opening is a better reference point?
Also, how are the front and rear ends of the carpet secured? I was thinking some double stick tape, but is there something better?
If you have replaced the carpet in your Ranger, any helpful tips?
Thanks for any help you can provide
David Garrison
