Hey folks. So my rear gas bracket for my '98 ranger has rusted out. I still have the bracket arm. I am wondering if there's a good way to resolve this. Has anyone delt with this problem before? If so, how did you fix it? Thanks for looking. - Murph

I would suggest several options. Get used from a boneyard. Get one from the dealer, or make your own strap from metal. A final, un-known thought is to use a fabric tie down cord with a ratchet tightener mechanism. If getting one of the first 3 is not an option, the last could get you by for a while until you could get a more permanent repair.
Not knowing general location, you may find nothing but rust in a boneyard, or may find something usable. Given the vintage, a dealer may not have anything in stock or the strap may be NLA. Sheet metal fabrication shops may be able to make a suitable replacement if you can give them the old one or remains to use for measurement and bending.
