My motor gave out of my 1998 ranger 4.0. I swapped the motor with one from a 2000 explorer. I swapped all I could see that was different and I got everything bolted up and put together and the only thing that was different was the camshaft position sensor was different so I changed the head/ sensor on the top, it won't start now, what should I do? That's my work truck! Plzzz help!!

Spark? Fuel? What are you missing? Give some insight.

Yes I have spark yes I have fuel pressure, yes Its running now but missing and backfiring badly!

Different ECU?

I found out the firing order was wrong but now that it's running it's giving me the po340 code ... Camshaft position sensor code ... I broke the wiring clip but it's plugged in, could a broken clip cause problems like this?

No, the code is probably from having the wrong sensor on it. Or possibly just a bad one if you used the old sensor. They tend to be a bit delicate once they are older.
