1995 Instrument illumination dimmer

I’m trying to help a friend out on this problem. He bought the truck without the dimmer. His connector has six wires going into it. My 96 has four. I went to the junkyard and found several 97’s, 96s, 98s and they all had four wire connectors. Why does his have six? Where does he find a six wire switch?

Thank you. I have that diagram and also the one for mine. And they both show six wires going to the dimmer, but I have only four going into mine and all the junk cars that we found only had four also.

Seems like the main switch illumination and the radio illumination are fed separately in 1995. They are also fed separately in 1996-up, but from a different place, thus the less pins.

OK. Thank you, That makes since, sort of, I have always heard 95s had quirks about them and I guess this is one of them. So I guess we need to narrow the search for a 95. Thanks again.
