Hi everyone,

I am stumped and could use some help. Today I finally had time to work on the Ranger with my soninlaw again. We where able to see the fuel pump is working and the engine is rolling over. It has no spark. The plugs, wires, and coils all checked out good. We did not however have the time to see if the coil packs are getting the signal to fire.

Is there a common problem with the 1995 2.3L that causes it to loose spark?

The battery is good, and it ran when I bought it last October, and I had it running in January.

The crank sensor is on the passenger side about by the top of the oil pan in that corner. The crank sensor gives signal to the computer which gives the signal to spark and fuel. Either there's something wrong with the crank sensor or the ECM isn't getting power or ground or something...

Thanks scotts90ranger. I will check that out. Havr the crank and cam sensor ever gone at the same time?

I've had zero issues with my '97, but I would say no, that would be extremely odd unless the thing got struck by lightening...
