Hi I Have a 1994 Ranger 4x4 Turbo 2.3 I had to rebuild the steering column lower retainer and bearing. I pulled the whole column and put in new plastic retainer and bearing, But oddly enough the top coupling of the intermediate shaft will no longer align with the bolt holes in the end of the steering shaft,it seems it s all the way tight to the retainer and has no more room to slide into the coupling any further? I believe I assembled it correctly but now it will not come together?? Baffled??

Thanx for any advice
Jeek!!

Hi Folks I used A Drift Pin ( Long shaft Phillips screw driver ) in the steering column shaft screw hole and Gently pulled downward and was oddly able to gain the 1/4 inch that was lacking? it was a last ditch effort but somehow worked! I still dont understand were the 1/4 inch was up at the wheel because the wheel wasnt loose when I pulled up and pushed down on it !

Divine intervention is Real :icon_confused:
