1994 Ranger 4x4 4.0 to ? swap.

yeah.....some are d and some a square....some freak spline things.... lots of options.

the 94 down grand cher o car type should be what i pictured. you can go the the junkyard and get one for 5 bucks and play with it.

you can drill a hole in the shaft to put a bolt or cotter key in so it can't slip off the shaft...

or drill a hole through the center to match what ya took off....using both the pinch bolt and the center bolt for safety...

or hybridizing it with a ranger style upper joint from a later truck like on my bronco shaft at the colum side and the lower d section from the jeep on the steering box side so it its even easier...

up to you.

The rubber pieces in the joints are for noise. You will sometimes get a power steering pump hiss through the steering wheel with a solid steering shaft assembly.

Thanks for you help. It's been a couple weeks but I ended up just rebuilding the steering shaft. I also replaced the ECM, found a couple vacuum leaks, and it's like a different truck now. Plenty for what I bought it for. My daughter has been driving it all week with no issues.
