1994 Ranger 4x4 ABS and brake light on

Hello all,

A few months ago I purchased my first Ranger, a 1994 Ranger Splash 4x4 3.0L with 54k miles. While I absolutely love the truck, the brake light and abs light issue is driving me insane. The lights come on together and dont go away until I shut the truck off. I have noticed that in the cold northern Indiana weather currently that they come on every time I drive the truck. Almost always when I disengage the parking brake or put the truck in reverse. If I apply the brakes "too hard" with the lights on it will chirp the rear tires. I have checked the fluid lever and lines for leaks and cant find an issue. any help would be VERY appreciated. I'm a new member and i look forward to meeting everyone! Thanks-Luke

There are at least two discussions running this week about your very same issue I think you will find that you have a bad master cylinder reservoir sensor, I just disconnected mine.
Your abs which is rabs because you have an older truck like many of us. Is one of the worst things Ford ever added to our vehicles, there are literally thousands of discussions about it all over the internet.
