1994 Ford Ranger with 1998 bed tail light problems

I have a 1994 Ford Ranger 2.3l supercab. I just recently picked up a bed with absolutely no rust from pull a part only problem is the 1994 tail lights wont fit onto the 1998 bed. I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to get them to fit by trimming metal. etc.

All ranger tail lights 93 and up should be interchangeable. You may have picked up a mazda bed. Those pictures really dont show anything useful.

I know its from a ranger i took it off my self. maybe one of the tabs on the bed are bent ill have to look in the morning.
