1994 347/c4 build -project- rebel rouser

Merry Christmas prymetime
Thanks broskie! Hope Santa brought goodness for ya :)

So today I finally have a small update in preparation for getting the trans back hopefully this coming weekend.

I reused the bottom of the tool box section I cut out for access to my fuel cell. Cut it down so it would be of good size and secured it to the trans tunnel.
Had to hack up the carpet, but a fresh black one will be replacing it soon enough. I also moved the shifter alil further back and towards driver seat for better positioning. It's 100x more solid now. Hoping it helps get the ratchet to work as I think / hope that the additional flex from the flimsy mount was causing to much movement and binding it up. Seems to work more smooth already with out the trans hooked up so that's positive direction right there.

Original mock up, nice size hole:

All hacked up

More hackage, I did not get one of how the shifter mounted but it's all tight to the diamond plate and holes were cut for the linkage and wires.

Set up where it's guna sit with some old floor mats I had laying around to cover my mess for the time being

While I was dipping around for after xmas savings I found myself prepping for the interior upgrades.
Picked up new speakers for the doors and adding 2 to the empty spots in the rear cab. Pioneer 6x8s that were 50% off
And a Sony small 2 channel amp. It's rated at 85 watts @2ohms.
I'll wire the right n left speakers so it's drops the 4 ohm load down to 2 so they get the most out of this lil guy. It was also marked 50%off.

I'll be adding subs and another amp down the road as I get some loot.
I'm picking up the mustang seats this week. Once I get the carpet and additional audio ish I will be able to tackle the insides.
Also, I'm moving the guages up to the cluster. I have spare sheet metal to fab that up so I'll also need a new speedo to work in there as wallet allows. But that should do it for the interior.
Once complete I'll be moving to wheels/suspension/rear end upgrades.

Nice work, debating on taking out the stalled aod in ours and swapping to a c4 but would miss od......but who needs it anyway...lol

Thanks mang, the c4 was just an easier choice for me since I'm going simple old school rat ranger here. Haha. I would like od but hoping the 3.08s outback will keep the rpms tame on highway for cruising

I was able to get some work done today being that the weather was half decent, partly sunny in the high 30s, for December In nj, I am blessed :)

So I took my time and fiddled with the exhaust today. I picked up some clamps and universal hangers so I could mock ish up. I also used some new pipe expanders I picked up to open up the header adapter.

Going back into 12 inch cherry bomb glass packs, I used these since the Flowmasters were to big for where I wanted to place em. They will get used on my mom's vette eventually.

Got things lined up pretty even:

I'm not dead set on how they are exiting behind the door as I wanted them to exit alil further back, in front of the rear wheels. As it Sits now, it's 3 flange bolts and one hanger on each side to get it off, simple enough to have off in one piece for welding. All those clamps looks like hell haha.

So what u think? Leave as is or bring em back to the wheels?

How much are you going to drive it? If you daily it I think it won't take long to wish your exhaust was a little longer and exited further back. Mine dumps right behind the cab and I'm ready to redo it soon

Hey mang, it's just a weekend toy and track truck that I'll cruise around in with my rents n ish.
I'm thinking it needs to exit further back myself as it just looks odd in the middle of the truck to me. I'll see how it is first tho.

I think it would be better back close to the tires but that's my opinion and you know what they say about those lol

Cranking along urself there brotha . The exhaust is going to be load lol . But yeah bring it back some closer to the rear tires . Besides that it looks great to me how it's routed . [emoji106]? .

I just wanna go fast [emoji48]

Ha. That's funny man but I appreciate the input. I think it just looks odd not close to wheel. I will have it extended once it's back on all 4s since it'll need more pipe and some bends that I don't have and can't do. It'll get the job done for the time being tho. I did make the driver side tighter to body as the pic shows it hanging alil further down before I did that.

So not much of a noteworthy update cept for everything is back in minus exhaust. It didn't get that nice up here today. working in 35° with no sun and flurries kinda blows, but I forged forward.
Just a cluple quick pics for my work place today. Notice the new tool box :) makes life so much better having that around. Thanks mom n dad :)

Hoping for a good day tomorrow as I only have to hang the mufflers and go over a few things.
1. Check trans lines and make sure they are clear of kinks n headers.
2. Make sure engine mounts are still tight.
3. Check fluids, add trans fluid as needed.
4. Do big burn out....hopefully [emoji469]

Here's to wishing everyone a happy and healthy new year. Looking fwd to a great one[emoji106]
