For the most your right . I'm going to ask the builder right now .

I just wanna go fast [emoji48]

My coworker says to check vacuum. The two different vacuums going . One will rise and one will fall the fast the motor spins . Also check the modular, pull it off .Pull a pin out and Use a magnet to out to pull the piece in the and make sure it not stuck . If not then a valve in the valve body it stuck possible .

Thanks broskie! I'll get back under it and check the modulator this weekend. The trans was sitting for a while before I got it. It had a plug in the Trans cooler line and on the modulator. Assuming this was to keep ish out of it while sitting. I've read that sometimes, after sitting for a while, ish my stick inside. Resolution was to drive it and see if it unsticks itself. Also, ull check to make sure I'm getting good vac at the modulator. It's leaking a fair amount, the good news of that is its all nice clean new atf fluid. Hoping it's an easy fix.

Thoughts on a min spool for the rear end? Found this and for the price, I think I may pick it up.

So, I know I'd like the expo rear end, got steeper gear, stronger axles and disk brakes.
With that, I got to thinking....and it may be premature but, going to a steeper gear, I'm not sure will help my set up. As is now, it wants to toast tires and I don't want it screaming in high rpms on the highway. I need to confirm my ratio when I look at my axle code on the door.
Not sure what's in there but if it's 3.08s, I think it's getting spooled, if it's 3.73s, I'll probably wait for expo rear.

1994 347/c4 build -project name pending

It's most likely 3.08 like my stock open 8.8 . Went to 3.73 in that diff and one wheel spinning all the time . That was before the 5.0 and expo diff which is the 3.73 disk diff . Like I said if you wanna buy those 3.18's I got them .

Spools are cool but will eat up tires on the turns .

Atx, I am thinking it has the 3.08 also, but want to confirm. I also need to see it goes on the highway before I make any real decisions since I'm not sure where the rpms will be crusing. Gotta keep a decent balance with the 3 speed. Haha if that's possible at all.

So tomorrow it is supposed to be real nice here again. Can't wait and will be up early cranking away. Most importantly, trying to get mufflers on it. From there, I'm going to get my lil misc stuff tidied up. Loom some wires and make sure they are out of way. Go over all the bolts, make sure they all tight. Gotta burp the cooling system.
Get my headliner in and all my interior panels back up.
Maybe get the tool box cut up and situated to be bolted down.
Also need to get my trans dipstick bolted down to bellhousing.
I think that's it, so if all goes well I'll have it out for a video shoot so u can see my hack job. Hahah.
Ono.

No Pic update, But I Got A Few Things done today.
I got thr Flowmasters on, it's not the prettiest but they are on and it's now streetable :) still loud as hell.
I went and loomed up the some of my mess under the hood. Much cleaner now.
I went over my bolts n ish, cranked em down and made sure it was solid. I got the trans dipstick bolted down, pita.
I was able to take it for a few mile ride and it felt ok. Still didn't shift correctly so I fueled up and brought it back. Went online to read some more and found that my vacuum was hooked up to the wrong port on the modulator. My 73 trans has a dual port modulator and I read that I should change it out for a single port for better shifting. The dual port was a one year thing for the egr emissions ish but ford did way with it since it didn't do much better. I'll order that up and change it out, but the 2nd ride tonight it felt great, finally shifted up and down thru the gears. :) very happy with that fix.
So tomorrow I'll snap some pics of what I got done and hopefully finish up the headliner and tool box install and possibly cleaned up for its first real test drive.

So today went well
Got my headliner in and panels all buttoned down.

Not to shabby and def better than it was.

I then got to cutting the hole in my tool box for fuel filling.
Easy nuff task. I then got some nuts n bolts and made studs to sit in down on so I could add 1/2 of rubber for added clearance over the cell:

I also went over misc stuff. My tach line was loose so I got that fixed and seems to work correct again.

My fan relay may be shot, it's not kicking on by itself, been over riding it with my toggle switch.
Still have a painfully shitty noise under operation, hoping is just something to do with my flexplate or torque converter.
Regardless, I'm at the point where it needs to go to the trans shop to have seals n shit done. Leaks like a mofo.

My mufflers are on there for streetabilty...and that's it. It looks like hell. This will also get subbed out for a clean job once I get some cash flow back. Honestly not sure I want to run Flowmasters since they drone so dang bad. I may opt for some 12 inch Glass packs that I got waiting around.

Currently uploading a walk around vid to youtube. I'll try n post up for viewing pleasure.
So that's about it for this weekend. I'm guna try n have it at a shop this week for the trans work. Hopefully it won't hurt to bad $$ and get it back for the weekend.
Let me know what yas think of the headliner n tool box.

That headliner came out bad ass man . Truck Looks really clean man . Come along ways so far

I use this in my 8.8 with 4:10, all Ranger 4.0 4X4s have 8.8 with 4:10 factory, I cut mine out of a rolled Ranger 4X4, bolted right in

Gsp, thanks for the heads up. Definitely an option for that bridge when I cross it

Today I called the trans shop I was going to deal with. Dude straight up tells me, just order one from summit, you'll be ahead in the long run. Oooookk. I was alil dumbfounded but since I've already loooked, said f it and that's what I'll do. Local guy doesn't want business!?!?! This is new to me in this day and age.

With that said, I'm dropping the trans this weekend....blows having to wait 5 days to work on it but that's how it goes I guess. From there I am going to go over everything I did, inspect everything again, re seal the pan, go over my lines and fittings and put it back in.
If it don't go well, I'll bite the bullet and go for this:

Thanks broman. One step fwd...one or two steps back hahaha. I'm ok with it tho. Winter is coming...would be sweet if it missed us this year, but I'm going to take time off from it since I am sure we are due for freezing Temps n snow soon enough. Gives me time to save for my rear, tires, and suspension and transmission if it needs it.

Man wish u were here in central Texas . Could get your trans hooked up for cheaper then that tci trans and come out built just like a tci with some extra valvebody trick my builder does . It's getting colder here at night , in the 40's but like today it's low 70's . Atleast you got the smaller projects like blower motor box for heat , etc .

Hey man, thanks, I wish I had some friends up here in the biz. Honestly, this dude has worked on my family's cars before and had great reviews for the work he does..he did say c4 was ancient and maybe he just don't like working on em. Idk.
I figured since I am taking it down, I may call this other shop and see what it'll cost to go over it, out of the truck. If it's reasonable, I may opt for it. I'm going to go over everything I did, see if I missed something and go from there. It's likely that things may come to a screeching halt once snow falls so I am going to try n get this shit done this coming weekend. If I can't get it, f it..ill order one up.

It's at this time that I honestly thought about swapping to an aod like Bobby Walter suggested. However, I got all the parts n ish for this 347/c4 combo...so I'm sticking with it.

Any other c4 suggestions, would be good. I am looking at peformance automatic c4's as well. The tci was just a quick search and came up as most economical.
