This is the story of my 1994 Ford Ranger. This was my good friends Grandfather's truck that he purchased new from the dealership in late '94. He gave it to my friend when he was in high school as a first vehicle to drive around town and to get back and forth from school/work. 5 or 6 years ago the truck developed a starting problem and was parked on the side of their garage and forgotten about. I was just starting to get into doing my own automotive work on my own cars and really wanted something I dig into without worrying about it having to get me to work on Monday. His family was more than happy to get this rusty hunk of junk out of their yard, and the fact that they didn't have to pay to have it removed was a bonus! I was more than glad to use AAA to tow it across town to my parents house, where I could work on it at my leisure. That is how I came to acquire my own compact truck, dubbed 'The Trash Boat'.

Check it out and let me know what you think: https://imgur.com/gallery/OBly2

P.S. I hope imgur albums are kosher around here, it's much easier for me to create an imgur post and share it to multiple sites instead of recreating the post every time It goes on a new platform. (ie FaceBook, Reddit etc)

Good job on your truck. This is a great way to learn how to do some wrenching. It shows how most anyone can do maintenance and repairs on their wheels if they take some time and do some research.
You may have spent as much on repairing as the "value" of the truck, but you end up with a better truck and many valuable skills.

That was the goal! Or at least it helps me sleep at night. My dream is to restore a YJ or TJ some day, but they're just so damn expensive. I gained a lot of confidence towards that project with this one. It was awesome to start with a ranger and made me a big fan of these trucks!
