The two hoses – one coming from the tank; the other going to evap purge solenoid – are formed with a 90° elbow to slip onto the nipples on top of the canister. I fully expect mine to crumble when I remove them and, not surprisingly, they are long obsoleted by Ford.

What are you doing for replacements when it's time to replace the charcoal canister? They are fuel hose to begin with, right? Is Ace going to have something suitable in the lawnmower parts section?
-thanks

I can't help with this , but I did just - not 30 minutes ago - replace the purge valve or solenoid on my 94. Fortunately the connections from the canister to the solenoid were fine as were the more plastic-like connectors. The solenoid is down near the exhaust mani so heat could be an issue, but I would think any heat resistant hose would work.
I did not replace the actual canister, but that is next. Still, I don't think you will have a problem finding a suitable replacement.

Any parts store should have vacuum elbows, Ts, and coupling in various sizes in stock. Usually by Dorman in a little section called HELP!.
