Does the tailgate contact the bumper? It looks like it might in the pics.

There's a tiny air gap between the top of the bumper and tailgate, but it can open fully. The groove on the tailgate basically rests on the curve of the bumper.

Finally fixed my ABS system (again)! As suspected, the replacement Cardone hydraulic valve I previously installed was faulty. Mechanically it worked, but the pins weren't measuring the correct resistances per the wiring diagram. There was no resistance for the reset switch pin, so internally it was open. New one read 22k ohms, as expected. I replaced it again, measuring the remaining pins before installing and they all checked out. After bleeding the brakes, the ABS light turned off successfully. What a pain, but it's done. .

The under-hood lamp is fixed! Last year I resoldered the frayed wires of one connector end, and now I replaced the connector on the other end. I got a replacement oem switch (#E8ab-15702-AB) off eBay, so now it works as it should. Everything electrical is now 100% fixed on the truck! Win win.

Mods for a quarantined day anyone? Finally got the Borla headers I've been searching for (PN 17030) and was lucky enough to find brand new ones. Came with the hardware, gaskets, parts list, assembly diagram, and even a brochure from 1997. Picked up a K&N air filter (PN 33-2024) while i was at it. Even though I'm not 100% done with the restoration, a few tasteful mods won't hurt. Now in the market for a high-flow cat and an exhaust system.

It was actually on the ranger station facebook group. Some guy was selling it, and i scooped them up as fast as i could. I was looking on/off for 3 months, so it was a good thing i checked FB when i did.

If i come across them again i'll let you know. Besides this site's for sale thread, i was checking ebay, offer up, craigslist, fb marketplace, and general google searches. Another set is bound to reappear. If you're lucky, people have found them at junkyards.

The other day i fixed my leaky rear differential and I took the opportunity to paint the cover and bolts. Black isn't a flashy color, but it has the stock 3.27 gears so i just wanted it to look cleaner.

I got a double cam system that's visible in the rear view mirror. This way i don't have to change anything else in the interior and keep it stock. Win win.

I also got the headliner fabric after waiting almost a month for it to arrive. I'll be installing the camera at the same time as the headliner, since i'll have the space accessible to run and hide the wiring. I will get the visors redone professionally though.

Then in the near future i'll be replacing the oil pressure switch, coolant temp sensor, and engine temp sensor for preventative maintenance. I also got 2 new O2 sensors to install on the Borla headers, but i'm still looking for exhaust systems so that install will be later.

This past Saturday i redid my sagging headliner. Originally i was going to have it professionally done, but thanks to YouTube it was easier than i thought. After taking it off (only broke two plastic clips btw), i took off the old fabric and foam and i went to town with 3M Super 77 Adhesive spray on the mold and the new fabric. I think it came out alright for my first time. I also took the opportunity to run the power and rear camera wires for my new touch screen rear view mirror. The interior certainly feels cleaner and smells better too. The date 10/29/92 is stamped on the back of the mold... which i suspect is the date it was formed/made.

Did mine last year. Scary easy to do. Only thing I had to do with mine differently was reinforce the fiberglass mat with resin - mine was SHOT.

Works well if you have one falling apart, and gives the glue something to really bite into.
