1993 Splash in SC

Got the garage up above 60 degrees today and did some painting. They look a lot better this way. I'll do one more coat tomorrow. And before anyone asks; that is Rustoleum glopped on with a brush. These are rock sliders that I expect to get beaten on rocks. Not painting the Sistine Chapel here.

Finally finished my video from Saturday. Just in time, too. There should be something more exciting after my trip to Timber Falls tomorrow.

Nice sliders! I'm looking to make some for my ST. What size tube did you use?

Out wheelin today at a localish park. Tried a double black diamond trail called Rocker Knocker. Made it half way and found maximum strength of a Milemarker hub. Came back to the parking lot and installed my Warn spare hub. Ready to go for the rest of the day.

How did the anti rocker knockers do?

Very well. They took some good hits. I'll have to do some washing before I can really inspect for damage. The park (Gulches ORV park) is only 80 acres. But I did the hardest, toughest wheeling today out of all the wheeling I've ever done. Pix and maybe videos later. Had trouble withbthe GoPros today. But my buddy Larry got a lot of footage. He's in the red Rubicon below. Yes. I followed down in there. The dirt walls folded my mirrors in.

Larry got a Birdseye view while I was documenting my broken hub. I did my best to represent TRS.

Washed it yesterday. Rear diff has been dripping since Friday's trip. I know it at least scraped pretty hard on some rocks. Hopefully, I just need to reseal the cover.

Driver side rock slider lost some paint at the very forward end of the outer bar on the bottom where it hit. Passenger side has a 10" scrape on the bottom about midway on the outer bar. No dents or signs of damage.

Diff cover is fine. Drain plug got knocked a bit loose. It shows some new scars. Found a few more scrapes on the rock sliders. Looks like they took at least 5 hits.

I would double check your drain plug and maybe seal it with some teflon tape or something. I know on my G2 cover, the plug was slightly loose awhile after I had installed it. It may not loosen enough to fall out, but enough to seep. The last thing I, or any of us, would want is to have out rear diff drain out while we are on the highway.

Also, real nice progress on the truck.

If the sliders are scratched up then they are doing their job :icon_thumby:
