Hello all I've hit a road block with my Ranger and am looking for advice. It's a 98 with the 4.0 and automatic. Fully rebuilt engine and transmission at 220,000 currently has 258,649. Drove it all day one day back and forth between states probably put 500 miles on it. Parked it and accidentally left the door open and drained the battery. Tried to jump it and it wouldn't jump tried jumping and a jump pack and just got it cranking before the pack died. Tested battery and it was bad. Put it in neutral and pushed it maybe 20 feet out of the way and back in park. Put a new battery in the next evening and it fired right off, idled rough for a second or two then ran fine, put it in gear and nothing. No dip in rpms, no clunk like it's dropping into gear nothing. Brake lights work, scanner shows movement of gear selection and solonoid activity, transmission shows proper pressure readings and fluid. Checked fuses too. Tried the manual reset of the tcm and still nothing. Did I not do the rest right? Anybody have any ideas? Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask I haven't visited the station in ages.
