1993 Splash build

^ Thanks!!.

Got a little more done tonight. These coils are entirely too tall. A loaded BC Bronco 3.5" lift coil (20.5" long) is 17.5". Add the 1" tall lower coil seat, and you get a total of 18.5". A 4" TTB loaded coil is right around 16". So Im looking at right around 6.5" of lift total. I've done some thinking, and Im going to keep it that way and remove my body lift (mainly so I can get it out of the garage :D ) Anyway, on to the photos.

So now that I'm looking at a 6" lift, Im going to need an FA600 pitman arm for my Stonecrusher steering setup. There goes more money down the drain.... :P

You could leave the body lift on and just roll the truck out of the garage with wheel dollys on the brake rotors and drums. It should clear ;-) and then you can keep all of your lift.

On the flip side, you could modify your coil buckets and move them up 2". I think that would help your flex by staying with longer springs.

Just a though ;-)

I have to stay legal as well. Here in Pa, we have laws. Law is any vehicle UNDER 5K gvwr has to have a MAX front bumper height of 24". Do you have any idea how HARD it is to achieve that? :annoyed: Plus, 9" of lift on a trail rig running 35's is WAAAY too much lift.

Already built a front bumper. And moving the coil buckets up is not an option.

My body bushings are shot so when I remove the BL I will replace my bushings w/ a Poly set ($50 on Summitracing.com). Plus I've never liked BL's. They look horrible and are just a cheap way of gaining tire clearance.

you must also take into consideration that the coils will "settle" some....

If you havent already you need to roll the truck around a little before you go making changes. When you jack up a TTB front end the tops of the wheels swing out and the bottoms swing in as you know. When you just lower it back to the ground the axle and wheels will have some binding with the floor untill you roll the truck and let the TTB return to its static position.

:D You guys act like I'm a newbee at this. Of course I know that. But they wont settle that much and if need be, I'll just take 2 inches of the body lift off.

looks good

yeah, i'd get rid of or shorten the BL like you were saying. good thing you dont have to buy new drop brackets, that would blow. but the 4" pitman arm is gonna be a nice large expense for you.

Yea it's expensive, but I want to do this right the first time.

On a side note, I found my shocks. They're 15" Travel BDS shocks. Extended length is 35.5 collapsed length of 20.4" :icon_hornsup:

I should have PLENTY of travel with these shocks. The coil spring will be my limiting factor. If they dont limit travel enough, I will have to look into limiting straps. Either way, I should be able to max out an RTI ramp extremely comfortably :D

Didn't you buy some 13" travel shocks a while back?

-PlumCrazy

Bought 10.5" travel shocks which are now going on the rear. They're WAY too short for the front now that Im going with a 6" suspension lift instead of a 4"
