Took my 93, 4L to a couple of shops but none could help me. Started running rough a couple of weeks ago out of the blue and check engine light goes on after about 3 or 4 miles of driving. If you turn it off, it doesn't go on until you've driven several miles. Finally went to Ford Service. They replaced both oxy sensors but truck still runs rough and check engine light still comes on after about 3 or 4 miles of driving.

Ford says that its a game of replacing parts until you hit the right one which would be costly. They said it might be the PCM also, but couldn't say for sure.

I'm at a loss as to what to do. I can buy a PCM and possibly install it myself but am not sure if its worth trying.

One thing I've noticed since this problem started is that my gas gauge is screwy. Sometimes it works and sometimes it registers a full tank or a quarter tank. Its all over the place when it does that.

Also just realized that my 4X4 doesn't work.

Wondering if anyone has any ideas or suggestions.

Its a great truck with over 200K miles.

Thanks

Might sound stupid, and pardon me if it is.....have you checked all grounds? Body ground, those big strap grounds....etc etc? If one of those is hitting/missing it might be throwing all sorts of crap out of whack....
