1992 low stall T.C. from a 4.0 ranger.? A direct fit to b2 2.9?

As the title says will a (low stall) Torque converter from a 1992 Ranger 4.0L DIRECTLY swap into a A4LD 4wd trans connected to a 2.9?

Will It need a different flex plate?
Will It fit correctly to the Trans?
And most importantly..
Is there a Real Gain to doing this?

really? someone said a while back it will ADD gas mileage... personally i dunno but i'm buying all the trans rebuild parts thurs so I need to know.

Maybe someone else will chime in on whether you will see a gain or not, but I dont think you will see much of a gain if any.

I actually had one, a refurbished low stall behind my 2.8 and a4ld, and I loved it. Way less slippage to get it going, made it feel like it had a lot more torque. Imo it helped my a4 which was going out last a little longer. It will runn cooler and get better gas mileage. From stop to about2k rpm it would go then kinda flat till about 2200. So about 200 rps worth of flat spot which wasn't enough to not do it. Only noticable in 1st. Wot was a big difference from a stop. Thing would actually go somewhere. And u have about 40 more hp then the 2.8 so it would be even better. I swapped mine with my a4 to paul for a fm1sf. He's gonn rebuild the trans and use it in one of his rigs.

And if u take your high stall and use it as the core for a rebuilt low stall and don't tell em any different, u will get your core charge back. Hope this helps

I say do it, I wish I woulda done it when I first got my rig, my a4 prolly would still be going, and I woulda saved some gas money too lol
