I found a nice dash in 92 and want to pull it out without damaging it or cutting any wires. Wondering if there are any steps someone could provide for how to do this successfully.

There is no magic formula climb under there and unplug everything you can find between the dash and car. Then take out the side kick panels take out the end brackets there is also screws up where the dash and windshield to meet.Once you get the dash loose there will be more wires to unplug. If your changing years my 86 has a 93 dash then make sure heater controls are compatible or what you need to change with it.I changed the heater itself so I could have air conditioning later and I knew the controls worked together.

^ Pretty much what he said...

I didn't take a dash out of my 92 but it didn't look as complicated as my 88. The Third gen dash is much easier than previous years but it takes a bit of poking around to figure out...none of them are overly hard to remove...

I think if you remove the instrument panel bezel (trim) and the glove box you should be able to see pretty much how it comes out...maybe a panel behind the dash trim and the knee panel...

Now, what you find after you remove the dash is another story...but take a good look around the firewall and the windshield for signs of rust...don't be shocked if you find some...most Rangers and BIIs have some...finding no rust will be a definite bonus.
