Has anyone replaced connecting rods and bearings with the engine mounted in the truck? I would like to get it fixed as simple as possible. Will the oilpan come out as is, or do I need to disconnect the motor mounts and hoist it up a few inches?

I've have done oil pump and oil pan gasket with engine still in truck. Lets just say not the best/easy way to do it I ended up slamming cussing and fussing not worth it. Can it be done? Yes but I wouldn't recommend it. its very easy to just pull engine and do it right plus i doubt you would even have enough clearance to even get a ratchet in there. To pull engine only took me about 3 hours. Wish ya luck! They're easy engines to work on
