I need a thermostat housing for my 1990 Ranger 4cyl engine with a heater. Any know sources? Will a part from some another engine work (with hose modification)?

Thanks - Jim

The 2.3 and 2.0 from Rangers or Mustangs will work from previous years, but not sure about later years. The one I have on my 2.3 head came from an 87 2.3 and the one I had previously came from a 90 Mustang 2.3. Not sure if you can get them new though...check your local junkyard if you have one...I have an extra one now that has a bit of rust on the lip but otherwise worked fine...I just swapped in the one from the 87 Mustang because it was in better shape.

A junk yard part may not be any good either. We live in a small town so the pickings are slim.

The 90 Mustang housing might work. I found new ones from NAPA.

Thanks - Jim

Thermostat Housing

My mechanic cleaned up the existing part and got it to work.

Good stuff~

Thanks for the follow up!

Compare your NAPA housing to your OEM housing. It's more like an upgrade.
