1989 5spd clutch issue???

i'm having trouble shifting when at a red light, coming from neutral to first gear. seems like the shifter get stuck (even when the clutch is ALL the way in) and i basically gotta force it in, after attempting like 3-4 times until it catches.

new shifter? clutch? not sure what model tranny i have but its a 89 2.9L Ranger Reg Cab 5spd (w/ OD) Long Bed.

i'm off to the tech library to figure out whal tranny model i have

any tips/comments/info is appreciated

Have you checked your master cyl. fluid level?

My 91 has a leaking master cylander and it does that about every 6 months or so. Fill it up and it's fine. As your clutch wears I think it will go down also.
