bones Your out In Bc right? Here's some insperation ( halfassed) I'm hoping to make a road trip next winter to bc with my gf and 2 of our other friends and it's going be be once a get my diesel so I'm thinking about dragging this thing with me to do some four wheeling in Alberta with an old buddy from highschool and I may drag out and do some snow wheeling with you. Hah so there's your dead line gotta be on the trails for next winter lol

Haha, exactly why I don't like asking for help too man. Even if the guys a good mechanic or what ever, I still have a hard time trusting there work and have to check it over or re-do it anyways. We'll see, I may just get a buddy to do some of the work and I can watch as it's being done.

Oh I'll be out wheeling well before next winter, lol. Motivation never leaves for that long. :D

I'd be absolutely up for showing you guys around our winter trails man, that would be wicked fun!!

I know I gotta quit lazing around feeling broken and get back on the trail asap! Good news is I see the orthopedic surgeon today to find out if I need surgery or not, this appointment should make or break any plans and aspirations I've been brewing up lately. :P

well i hope that they tell you your good to go i almost had to have surgury on my ankel and that woulda sucked.

was gonna update this later but scince im here now i may as well.

i hooked my fuel lines into a jerry can and ran the truck it ran perfect i even got to rev it up and all that. good thing no ones around lol my nieghbours dont like that truck too much i dont think. not scince it started running an open hedder anyways

found my leak im almost sure why the truck wasnt priming :shok:
i was right it was between the pump and the tank. in the metal line i just got the wrong part of the metal line lol

ill put the pics up later my computers being super slow. i gotta run to town get the gf and pick up some stuff to fix this. its amazing how hearing the thing run brings back all the motivation :icon_thumby:

Yeah the doc says surgery in the next few weeks and then 12-14 weeks recovery. :(

Hmmm, make it run, hey, I'll go do that too, I'm sure your right hearing it run should boost my motivation even more, lol. I gotta get this thing wheelable before "I" get hacked apart. Motivation just hit me in a BIG way.

That's awesome you found the leaking bastich!!

So what's next on your list of 'to do's"?

Uh.... I think I have to go through the front axle and recheck all the seals and throw some more gear oil in it. I kinda ran the last bog of the season without a pinion seal. Took 4th place In the 38" class on 33"s though :) outta 18 trucks in that class too. Then go beat the shit outta it haha I'm still having to save $ to get the gears for the Toyota axles. Then it'll be down again for a bit while I swap tansmission transfercae and axles. While I'm doing that it's going to get power steering. 33s is bad enough on manual steering I couldn't imagine 38.5"s

alright so i finally got time to upload the pics from yesterday.

so heres how i made sure the problem was the tank b4 i took everything apart
remotegastank.jpg

well it started up and ran perfect. and i found my leak lol

so i syphoned out the tank. that was so fun.... all i could think while doing it was that gas is at $1.33 a litre here and i beter not spill any haha

so once i got the tank down i could see the problem a little easier.

i duno how i missed that last time i had the tank down or maybe i just bent it and made the hole when i put the tank back up last time.

so i went and grabbed some line and bent this up, i dont think its so bad considering i did it with a 10mm box end wrench and vice grips

so i went to my buddys shop and drilled out where the old pickup tube out and welded that one in. then covered all my welds in jb weld incase of pinholes. that was drying all last night so i havnt gotten it back together yet.

and of course its pouring out now... :annoyed:

oh well thats just gonna make the trails more fun for when this thing gets going

Right on, progress!! Yeah I bet you sealed it up fine with the JBW and then bumped it on the last install. Looks like it was pretty rotten anyways, I would certainly make sure the other rusty looking line is A OK before you slap it back together.

I fired mine up yesterday too, moved it a couple feet just to make myself feel cool! lol. Got my snorkel ripped apart so I can fix it and also gotworking on installing some brake hard lines!! Motivation has kicked in now that I know I'll be out for a while after surgery. Hoping I can get out wheeling at least once before the Doc cuts me open.

Yea the other lines is still solid. And I'm chasing down a tiny tiny leak In the one I redid right now. But I gonna wait for the jb weld to dry b4 I break out the soapy water again

Yeah chasing pesky leaks, that's almost as bad a wiring gremlins.

I hate wiring... Actually that not right I hate other peoples wiring. If there's a problem with any wiring that isn't meant to be on a truck I get I just tear it all out and do it again

Yeah me too man. I bought a truck that had extension cords ran for trailer light wiring and house hold 3 wire copper wire ran for the camper wiring hook-up, I was like WTF, first thing I did was rip that junk all out and start over. Princess auto has some nice 3 wire/4wire/5-6-7wire loom all ready for what ever project you have in mind.

Well it turns out the Suzuki/mud/toyota gods we're happy with me today. Started my day by pIcking up my gfs prom dress got a text from my buddy and he just got his truck done and wanted to go out. But sconce the samurai was apart I ended up taking my sj410 ( that little yellow one from earlier) all went good except I think the sj has bad gas it kept stalling I went everywhere my buddy did though. Which is pretty good considering the difference in the siZe of the two trucks.

Then I came home threw my gas tank up filled it hooked my lines together and fired it up! It ran like a top no problems go it up to 140 degrees ( thermostats 180) so now I know my new temperature gauge works and everything is charging. Just gotta clean it up zip tie a few things and re-seal my king pins and we're good to go. I'll gets the pics up later

heres just some b4 and after pics of the sj it got dark so i ddint get any of the samurai. it was a fun day though

Cool, always liked them little buggers!! LOL

They are a quad, only better, because you have heat, a stereo and a dry place to wheel in with a couple friends, try doing that on a quad. haha.

yea it was pretty fun i went everywher emy buddys sas'd mazda went and his rockers are at my waist lol. that yellow one is going to be my commuter once i get around to working on it.

im going throught the front axle tommorow then sunday i have a test trip to go on :D there will be pics. i hope
