I already got two rather large irons in the fire with the wagon and the squarebody.. figured why not add another and aquired this ol thing.. here she is, in all her glory!

307ci Olds motor, 200-4r overdrive trans, horribly high gears, and all the velour in the world. 94k on the odo.

Seems like it'll just need some fueling work, battery, brakes, tires.. that sort of stuff. Gonna start picking away at that crap and use the ol girl to keep some miles off my truck come springtime.

Worst part of the body (besides the top)

All I'm planning for the moment besides getting it road-worthy is burning in a little louder muffler and putting it on the ground.

Stay tuned.

The last of the true american luxury cars. Love it

What about the panthers? I've never been in a top-trim towncar of any of its panther generations but I'd imagine they're relatively cushy.. id also really really like to get a 91-97 before they explode in price.

Not quite that low, unfortunately. With everything else going on my budget is only gonna allow for a set of 350$ impala ss drop coils and MABEY a set of bilstiens.. I could very well cheap out and get the 7$ rock auto shocks at first lol.. well see.

The goal for (at least) the first year of ownership of this thing is MINIMAL INVESTMENT. I'm relatively confident that's an attainable goal.. again.. well see 😅

Town cars were the last of the american luxury vehicles. The 91-97's are sweet cars. Im just not a fan of the digital dashes

I'm gonna start calling you... lil_blue_blmpkn.

This is a lot like what I was looking to get 40 years ago. That was before they were downsized. My dad was with me and said it would take too much gas. I took his advice and passed.....Only to find out later that he just about went to buy it for himself!!

The 2000 Merc I had for a while had analog gauges. It was a lower model grand marquis.

Could probably swap the the clusters with an analog one if needed.

I think you can on the mercs and vics but the 91-97 TC's ran a different style dash and never got offered with analog as far as i know.

I always thought the 90s/early00's vics/marquis had a pretty cool looking cluster

MINIMAL INVESTMENT rascan lol.. minimal investment 😅 time AND money.

As long as it's not lil_blue_waffle lol 🤢

You could fix the rust and then Monstaliner it.

Eh. The things nice enough where I'd really like to keep it as stock/original as I can. Prices on 80s stuff have really started to explode the last few years.. I'm kinda thinking that this car could be a real and true investment if I play my cards right. That being said.. I wouldnt be opposed to a re-spray in a year or two.. mabey a gunmetal gray.. I do really like the dark blue though.
