1988 Cadillac Brougham

I knew it lol. You have more restraint than I do.. first thing I would of been compelled to do with those on was a WOT clutch dump in 2nd across the lawn.. for science, naturally.

those tiny tires would be easy to spin too, I think the size is 23-10.50-10 and my rear diff is 4.10’s Wouldnt hit 60 mph on the road but if you tried they would probably blow apart. They a filled with windshield washer fluid for weight.

What’s wrong with the wire spoke hub cap wheels?

I always like wire spoke wheels.

if only these would fit:

Nothings wrong with them in reality, I very much like the look.. they're just not big enough lol. Real 100 spoke wheels with the knockoff hubs would be the way to go.. but I can't ever forsee myself being willing to spend that kinda money on wheels lol. I more or less have 1500$ into acquiring the car.. 17" wires are like 1800 bucks 😳

Pimpin ain't easy...

thats the life of a G.

those wheels you are wanting to put on, the smoothie looking ones, are awesome looking.

I would recommend this look.

The donk look is an aquired taste that havnt quite aquired yet lol. The older I get the more I kinda do appreciate it though to be honest.

I DO have a pair of genuine gator shoes though so... mabey I'll have to turn them into driving shoes one day with the purchase of some bigass wheels 😋

Put on some grey steel caprice wheels minus hubcaps wrapped in some RWL BFG's

Dunno if I've mentioned this but I've aquired some lowering springs recently.. they provide a 2" drop on a 90s b-body.. but will lower this thing a whoppin 3-4" (d-body).

Tires were an awesome Christmas present.. went cheap&conservative on some 235/55/17s. Factory width but an inch or so shorter.

Also just made an order to R.A (forgetting to use our discount code -__- ) for front brake stuff. Went with Raybestos pads & rotors and Delco calipers.

Mounting/balancing tires is next on the list, followed by getting wheel spacers. Then ill be willing to jack the car up and remove the rear wheels to see what size brakes the thing has.. and then order those. After that it's hopefully just down to lines, shocks, carb re-build, and general tune-up stuff.

I found a Chinese super-10 clone muffler in my shed I had forgot about having... I'll burn that in at some point before it's maiden voyage.

So.. decided I should figure out why this this thing doesn't want to run right before I dive too deep into anything else.

Dumped in 4 fresh gallons of gas mixed with a healthy dose of M.M.O, and got it to (reluctantly) start. Once I got it started I pretended like I was breaking in a new cam and held it around 2k for a few minutes, with the occasional jab to near redline for good measure. It'll idle now.. bit still not running right. Need to feather it up off idle or it'll sputter out and die.

Also.. now that It'll idle and I can get out of the car and listen to the motor run.. definite valvetrain noise. I'm leaning towards a collapsed lifter.. quick rpm dependent tapping that goes away once RPMs get high enough and then comes back once the RPMs drop back down to about where the noise stopped.

Sounds like the time has come... for a coyote swap! :icon_idea:

That would make for a wild sounding cadillac.. but it'll probably just get a POS 350 lol.

Apart from a possible collapsed lifter.. and perhaps a partial cause OF.. the olds 307 might just be plain ol worn out. The oil pump on these old smallblocks does next to nothing at idle.. and a great deal of whatever oil pressure you make at idle depends on the health of your rod bearings. With 94k on the odometer I'm willing to bet that they're getting pretty loosey goosey and it's just not building enough pressure. I have a guage I can hook up to it and see what the story is.. just need to find a couple fittings.
