got the t-case yesterday from fellow TRS'er 'snoopdoggie', he's also gonna hook me up with an 8.8, D35, exploder springs and a factory roof rack, CANT WAIT :headbang:

got my lift brackets sanded down and painted, coils get here monday, gonna clean up the t-case tomorrow

for now, i just got off work, so it's  time :icon_cheers:

i've been workin on a rear bumper design as well, this is what i have so far, i'll probably add a tire gate eventually. it's made from a single piece of 2x3 steel with a tow hitch in the middle. i'm going for cheap, but functional

the t-case is a PITA, it was covered in a nice thick layer of grease, so i've been soaking it in purple power for the last couple days and then taking the wire wheel to it

i painted up the linkage as well, but everyone knows what that looks like. i'm gonna pull the tranny tomorrow and line up the flywheel and clutch a little better, i have one of those plastic clutch pilot tools that i "borrowed" from work. then install the tranny, t-case and rear driveshaft again and try to crank the bitch

When u pull the tranny, are u going to intall the t case then or, install once tranny is back in?

The reason I ask is, I'm gettin ready to install my manual t case and really don't wanna pull the tranny to do it.

So I guess I'm asking is it possible to do w/out pullin the tranny?

when I installed the tranny in my BroncoII, I put the tranny in first then the t-case, but next time, I'm going to install it has one piece.

On my Ranger I have to install them in 2 parts, the gas tank is in the way, but I would imagine if you can lift it easy enough all in one piece, do it that way.

I had to install a auto trans with the t-case together in a 93 f-250, the t-case was just to heavy and awkward to install in two pieces, of course I have a transjack to help me install the trannys.

Robert

I've always installed mine w the tranny, thats why I wasn't sure how hard it would be to install seperately.

Sorry bout the temporary threadjack.

no problem, among the many purposes for this site, helping people is one of them

well, in my case, i have to pull the tranny b/c i already have the engine in and i know for sure i didnt align the clutch and flywheel properly, i just eyeballed it cause i didnt know there was such thing as a clutch pilot tool. otherwise, you dont need to pull the tranny to put in the t-case, i really wish i didnt have to.

also, i'm doing all this by myself, i work at autozone, so i dont have off what some people call "weekends" off. i also dont have alot of friends in raleigh (well ones that know how to work on cars) i dont have a trans jack or any way of lifting the tranny/t-case combo (other than my arms).

my coils got here today too, THANKS LEGOMS, like i said, i'm gonna strip them down and paint them eddie bauer tan, maybe tomorrow after work

the t-case is almost all the way cleaned too, just need to wire wheel it in a few more places

so cancel the eddie bauer tan for the coils.....i couldnt figure out what colored i needed, plus we didnt have anything close at work....so i went with the same blue that i used on the valve covers and upper intake manifold of the engine. and yeah, i guess you could say james duff blue, but the spray paint can said Ford Blue.....but i dont care, i've always wanted a duff lift anyhow, i just have better things to spend $700 on.

also started taking off the rear sway and removed the rear shocks to make way for the exploder leafs and lift shackles
