So the choke wasnt working?
Thats it?
Im not sure on a feedback 2150 if the choke is linked to the ECM in anyway...but a 20 dollar choke cable kit probably would of fixed it.
My wife’s uncle said it was messed up and that a 2100 would be better because of less wiring. I also have a 88 ranger with the 2.0. Isn’t that a durapsark?
Im glad i have a 2.9.The choke is linked to the ECM. It has a special relay assembly with a circuit board in it mounted over on the pass side fender with all that other junk over there.
Apparently my relay assembly for the choke went bad years ago, someone intercepted the white/black stator wire on the back of the alternator and spliced into that, and ran a wire over to run the choke. Even though it's a lower voltage (about 7v) it works fine for the all electric choke these engines used. The alternator is on the pass side of the engine, the regulator is on the driver's side fender, so that wire runs right across the top of the engine in front of the carb.
These few years of 2.8 with carbs are real oddballs. If you wanted to take the high road and keep engine management system all original and working, I doubt you could. They just do not make some of these parts anymore for them.Im glad i have a 2.9.
