Hi Guys,
I came across a pretty amazing find on the way back from my gf's house. A guy is selling a 1976 IH Scout, with only 28k miles!!!
I pulled over to check it out, and this thing is in pretty amazing condition. Just a little rust in the normal places, but everything else is in good condition. I need some help with identifying the components since I am unfamiliar with IHs.
I need info on the motor, tranny, tcase, and front and rear axles if possible. The motor is a small V8, and the transmission is a 4 speed unit and the transfer case is a manual shift.
He started it up for me and it runs top with a new carburetor, tune up items, and starter. I was amazed at how well it ran. No smoke or weird idle issues. The clutch worked perfectly and the tranny and tcase shifted flawlessly.
I'm really considering buying it depending on my finances of course. Any help is appreciated!
