Just joined up... Thank you...
I just stumbled upon a 1973 F-250 Highboy w/ 26,000 original miles... Truck is in awesome shape, and not one speck of rust... 360/Automatic/LWB... Truck was owned by the local fire dept., and had a snow plow attached... Truck was kept indoors, and rarely ever used...
I was mainly curious if someone had any idea what this truck might be worth...

Thanks,

wb

Depending on location...

Being argueably the most desired 73-79 trucks (4wd F250s), and having that low of miles....

Id say it would EAISILY be an 8-10k truck if your in the rusty areas of the country.

Out west or down south....6-8k all day long.

Also, as a side note, all pre 77.5 F250s could be classed as "highboy", the "highboy" is a nickname that kinda stuck, this was due to the front springs being arched up more then the later (77.5-79) trucks giving them a higher stance. Ford never officially coined a "highboy" package.

Personally, id hang onto it. 73-79 F series are by far the best trucks ford EVER built.

Classic cars/trucks are worth what someone is willing to pay lol. Impossible to give a real set value but to get a ballpark figure for your area start searching auto trader, craigs list, ebay, for similar trucks. But again, someone looking for a show truck might be willing to pay 10, someone looking for a daily driver may be willing to pay 5. A patient seller will get the 10, a desperate seller will get the 5.

No way id let someone touch that for 5k. Espicially up north.

With some good cleaning/detailing done to it, fixing any issues it may have, and then doing some proper documentation and taking TONS of photos, that truck could reach around $15,000 on Ebay. I've seen it happen in the past..

Thats why i mentioned collector price vs daily driver price. And being a firehouse truck with a plow and only 26k in 45 years. It probably just plowed the parking lot a few times a year. So issues like dry rotting of anything rubber would be a concern. Yea if I owned that truck I wouldn't sell it for less than 10 unless I really really needed some crystal meth fast. But... I also wouldn't buy it for 10 unless I hit the lottery because to me its just a nice truck I would drive every day.
