1973 courier/ ranger build

I pulled the motor and trans out of the courier.

I have the floor built I'm going to take the time now and put it in and prime all the bare metal with a good primer. I have a 12x16 storage on the back side of my shop. 2wd street machine future project. The rear leaf will work if i go axle under on a explorer rear end and buy a kit to make it coil overs.

I started to pull stuff on the ranger to get it ready to have the motor removed. I will document the motor swap on this truck. It should go rather fast as I have made alot of parts to fit on the factory ranger including throttle and such. I even have the steel fuel lines and pump from the last truck I hope to be driving it by the summer and maybe next winter tackle suspension and axle upgrades

I decided against welding the floor in at this time I can just screw it all in and when I get back to it I may thank myself.

Either way I'll put it all together hopefully tonight and then by the weekend get the ranger in the garage.

I want to go thru and mark my sensor wires to hook up the factory gauges.

The hardware stores are selling clip nuts now that might be a great way to go. That way, you can do it all by yourself and not have to worry about welding nuts to the sheet metal in order to do the same thing.

Clip nuts work but can be a pain sometimes.

I like using weld nuts like these for sheet metal stuff

I just used self tapping screws for now it will get welded when I put it back together here in the next ten years lol .

I like rivnuts to be truthful they are easy to install and seem to hold up fine except thru aluminum they just spin there

Are those the ones that crumple when you tighten the bolt? I have seen them but never used them. They look nice and easy to use

You should use a tool to install them so they crimp properly but I suppose you could use a bolt to crimp it down.
