Well I have a week or so to wait for leafs to show up or more so going to tackle some other little jobs that are actually not little.

Going to get some tubing tomorrow brace the cab so I can cut the rockers out one by one and put some 2x4 x .120 wall tube in its place. As well as get the cab corners sorted out and fixed.

I got the cab off the frame already with 4x4 wood blocks holding it up on the solid points I have left on the cab. So its ready. The box is un bolted I need to clean the junk out of it to slide it back but. Feel fairly good on progress. Hope I can get the rockers sorted and body back bolted on before I get the leafs. I'll tackle the floor after leafs makes it easier to see what's going on.

Not knowing a thing about the slider things I think a shackle would be better for longevity.

The rubber dust seals don't last forever on those bearings (for nasty conditions I would try to find steel shielded bearings) and those bearing are made to spin like a wheel. When they sit in one spot the balls pound divots into the races.

The PTFE things look pretty light duty. Can't be much more than a 1/4" thick.

Again I don't know anything about them, they look neat but I would do a lot of research on how they hold up.

Those are self lubricating thermoplastic polyethylene, which is amazing stuff and is even replacing sintered bronze in many applications.

Yeah, it is common on the bottom of combine cutting platforms.

Well I got the sawzall out and hacked a big chunk of the rocker out after first bracing the cab with 1x1 tubing.

I need to pick up a wire wheel to buff the bottom of the piece I'm leaving in before sliding the tube up into place. I feel confident that a few hours will have it back together at least the drivers side.

Told the wife I want to drive this thing next summer. And with a third kid on the way in February need to get the most of the bigger stuff done while I can.

one step at a time

I was able to get the wire wheel and buff all the steel on the under side up. Grabbed the best etching adherent primer the auto store sold and gave it a few coats of that before sliding the tube up into place.

I never brought my welding helmet home from work today to weld it up perfect but I got it braille tacked up in there and then took the fender and marked the tube and cut it off. The marked the fender and trimmed it to fit it in place.

Not a lot of progress but a great moral booster.

Took measurements will shear up some 14 gauge tomorrow at work to fill in the gaps and bring my lid home and hopefully burn it all in good. Have to do the cab corner and fix fender rust but all In time

Well had some success this weekend was able to get the rocker done on the drivers side. While i was in groove I tackled the cab corner. I feel like it was success. I hope to get to the other side this week. Its moving along second side always goes faster don't have to second guess yourself. So woohoo!! [emoji3]
