Well i know it's not a ranger but Its got a lot of ranger parts going into it left over from my 1991 that I converted to diesel.

I'm starting out with a 1973 ford courier but I'm salvaging from my ranger my fm145 transmission and borgwarn manual transfer case. My 63/64" springs my explorer 8.8 with lsd.

My add on's are my om617 turboed Mercedes Benz 5 cylinder diesel engine with custom bell I made adapted to the transmission and my slip tank style box mount fuel tank.

Also new to this truck also my over all project is a dana 30 from a xj with no axle disconnect which Im going to do coIL suspension. I'm not sure weather I'm going to make radous Arms or do 4 link like it had in Cherokee.

Truck runs and drives atm with old Mazda 1.8 motor in it but will be starting to pull apart here in the next month. Will be a bit extensive as I have to move the firewall back to get my long motor in but with a slight body lift and some measuring will just cut out square then fold up A nice insert to weld in nothing really to truck so not much to pull apart to fit in.

Measuring tape is telling me I have to move a section of the firewall back about 8 inches and a 1 1/2" body lift should clear for height issues.

I have the 1.8 sealed up from all the old coolant hoses leaking but works to take it back and forth to work so I can use the shear and brake to make up all new floor pan's.

The more I say I want to keep it low the more I see that it's not going to be over all that easy

Sounds like a really interesting build. But I won't believe it until I see it.....pics please!

With coil suspension on a solid axle can a polyurethane bushing be used off the factory 4 link system from the jeep. And make brackets off my frame

I can definitely see the body lines influence those trucks gave to the Ranger.

Just was playing tonight looks like 3.5" out per side for tire no need for spacers will look cool

And just my 8.8 with the Chevy springs on it already gonna pull the blocks on it

Thing is going to be mean excited to see the progress

Solving the fueling issue right off the bat got my fuel tank mounted in the box. will get it industrially painted when I get truck tore down for more swaps I need to move stuff around still using the truck a bit to clean up the garage but thus was going to happen either way so it's a win

Probably started this thread prematurely in the process of buying a house that has a garage will set it up to be a nice work shop but winter will have lots of updates will be nice to finally have a place to let the project sit and do right not rushed really only need some front coils and 3.73 gears for the front diff and I have everything else or will fab it up
