I have a set ot 17"rims from a MUSTANG GT I would like to put on my 99 2wd RANGER.How big of atire can I use with out rubbing,my truck is stock height:icon_cheers:

Depends on the width of the tire, but a 2wd can fit a 28" or 29" tire. Mustang rims have more backspace so you will need spacers or the tires will rub on the inside and also it will look silly.

^^YUP...you'll need about 7/16" spacers and longer studs to run 'em. PM Dangerranger01....He's my little brother and he has since ditched his spacer and longer studs...I'm sure he'd love to sell them.

But...the real question is...what year mustang?? The 05+ wheels require about a 1" spacer on each side to work on a 98+ coilsprung ranger...

I have 245 45 R17's They do rub a bit.
Im not positive what my back spacing is though.

Your truck is a complete different devil compared to a '98+ coilspring truck.... sorry to say, your truck doesn't count in this thread.

I've got 17's with a 12mm offset. I'm running 275x60x17 (30") without rubbing. I have a stock ride height also.

Anyone know if 265/70/17's will fit on a stock '98? I have four snows sitting in my garage that I'd like to use, just have to grab rims for them.

Go to the Tire Rack web site and pick out the tires you would like to run and look at the specks. It will give the tire diameter, width and rim fitment. Then you can figure out what rim to use and what offset you need. My 275 X 60 X 17's with my wheels beeing 9" wide and a 12mm offset, my tires extend about 1.5" outside my fenders. I have some Bushwacker Extenda-flares that makes sure I'm legal and don't throw crap all over my truck.

Awesome thanks man.
