My 94 Explorer currently has a M5OD/1354E and I want to swap to the 1354M. I've found one from a 96 Ranger with an M5OD/1354M, but using the search bar leads me to ask a few questions...

1. My current factory D-Shafts should be plug and play?

2. The pigtail for the indicators on the dash: plug and play?

3. The floor plate: Do I need a new one, will the one from the Ranger fit, or is it easy enough to modify my current one?

Thanks everyone.

1) yes
2) no
3) not really, yes, yes

Your welcome.

I've been doing some searching and can't come to a conclusive answer...

Does the wiring for the dash indicators for 4x4 and low range just have to be grounded to activate the lights?

If so, I should be able to strip out all the 1354 E wiring, and then splice the grounds to the sensor on the 1354 M.

Any input would be great!

At the cluster:

Light Blue is for the 4x4High light. (circuit #210 ; This becomes Grey and gets renumbered to circuit #783 at connector #200 under the dash/ontop of the trans tunnel before running to the E-shift module.)

Brown / White is for the 4Low light. (circuit #782)
