I've searched the forums and did not find it there was an upgrade option for the rear wheel cylinders on the 10" Ranger drum brakes? I do know on my GBody I can get a larger piston wheel cylinder form the S10 Extreme to increase rear braking. I'm planning a Master Cylinder/booster upgrade and 93-97 Finned Aerostar drums as well with just 235/70r16's for now on my son's 88 Ranger Supercab STX. He's hoping to go 30-31" for the next set of tires eventually. NOT planning a rock crawler here. Thanks for any input!

I've driven these trucks daily since 1988.

I've never once thought just the standard 10 inch drum brakes needed any upgrades. Aside from the finned drums.

I would also be careful... this little trucks are pretty prone to locking the rear wheels.

My thought process here is that he wants to eventually upgrade the TTB Dana28 to an Explorer TTB Dana35 and the twin piston front caliper brakes... just thinking about balanced capacities. The 4BBL Turbo Buick isn't a barn burner and won't be doing any heavy hauling either.

The 10” rear brakes are pretty much the top of the line for the Ranger. I don’t think anyone has ever mentioned a cylinder upgrade. Even on the truck that had dual piston front brakes.

You could compare part numbers for your truck and later Rangers to verify but I don’t think any of that changed over the years.
