Did a little work the past 2 days, welded up the holes in the back of my cab. Built an exhaust hanger, fully welded my sub frame gussets and I moved my maxxis tires to the front and the swampers to the back. Next step is to build a spare tire and jack mount in the bed.
Then I took it to do a little testing.
Color me impressed, I was able to hit some good sized whoops at 30ish. No where near what the race truck does but for what my truck is I am very happy. I LOVE the welded rear.
Plans of now are:
Explorer 8.8, hopefully geared down, and welded.
Deavers, smoothies finish the bedcage and mount tools, spares ect.
Bronco 2 fuel tank (ghetto fuel cell)
Smoothies up front and longer coils, same PPI.
Bumps all around.
Build engine cage, rebuild engine.
Finish cab cage.
Gusset anything and everything that might break.
And get 4 BFG Bajas 33x10.5s and new wheels. keeping my old wheels and tires as spares. ( the owner of the toyota race truck has some extra bfgs that he wants to sell at some point)
BEAT THE PISS OUT OF IT!
Obviously this will all take place over the next couple of years. But hopefully I will race it locally next summer and find more weak links that I can build up!
