I have a 93 2WD supercab with the 4.0 and manual transmission and I want to see if Dorman part 936-287 will fit. That one is for a 98 with the same specs as mine but the wheelbase is listed as 126" while this site shows mine as 125.2".
I read the info pages and see they're supposed to fit but given the cost and the fact that these are made to order, I'm hoping someone can tell me if that will be a problem (I can cut the yoke down slightly if needed) or if there's likely to be clearance issues with a 4" diameter shaft and stock ride height.
Also, is the rear differential flange is the same size for those two years? Mine has the 8.8 rear end.

As for why I'm considering this, I recently had a u-joint go out so I thought it'd be a good time to replace others. I initially bought some SKF joints from Rockauto but they did not fit the driveshaft (too long and I couldn't get the clips intalled). I measured and found that they were in fact longer than the space between the clips, so I ordered a few Spicers that had the size listed as a very specific 3.219". They weren't actually close to that, more like 3.255" and barely fit. They're bulging the clips a bit and there is a vibration/resonance in the cab above 45mph. It's possible that I installed the front shaft 180 degrees out but I'll have to get time to check that. Either way, I'm not confident at all that it's going to hold up or smooth out and I cannot find a direct replacement for this driveshaft. Dorman doesn't make one and honestly, I don't want to get a used one and hope it's undamaged and that new u-joints will fit.
