1/2 Ton Buggy Build

Here it is waiting for the state police to inspect it. First thing he said was you know I have to drive it.

And loaded up ready for tomorrow.

Why did you have to get it inspected if its a trail only rig?

I could see you driving it to work one day.

I need a Indiana OHV sticker to ride at Redbird and Interlake but can't get a sticker without a vin#. So
i just need to send them the paperwork and
i guess they will send me a tag with some numbers on it then I can get a OHV sticker. Probably don't have to do that in KY or TN.

I bet it would do it no problem

Gotcha, and no, that's not needed here in tn :D

Googled it and propane is 100-110 octane. Maybe I should put the knock light on it, bought one for a car I had but never installed it.

Thinking about it, just because propane has a higher octane doesn't mean you need to run more timing. An engine is only gonna run with so much timing right? I guess I wouldn't be suprised if you end up at 14*-15* base. Unless propane make everything different, I just don't think you need lots of timing.

With propane you either want to build a higher compression motor or bump the timing up. I can go into more detail later when I'm not on my phone.

Yeah no reason to add timing if it doesn't add power.

Please share anything you think will help.

But it ran great today love the gearing 39.5's with 3.55 gears and a np435 is a pretty good combo. Ran almost all the trails at Interlake today in 8 hours. It is very capable by far the most capable rig I have had. Had 7 in the front and 5 in the rear with no beadlocks.

Here is a video. I should have mounted it in a higher and closer to the front but this is all I got.

And took a few pics in the parking lot. The guy with us in the YJ was Ryan he has 33" tsl's.

Did you have the quality turned down on the video. Its kinda hard to tell whats going on.

And I did get stopped by DNR yesterday because he couldn't see a OHV sticker on my rig.But he was real cool about it and said just keep a copy of any paper work I have like the one from the state police with me until I get it.

I don't know but yeah it came out pretty bad.The in cab stuff doesn't seem to come out very good.

At the end where I hit the tree at the top I had never made it more than halfway up before. And the first hill in the video I gave up on I had never even tried and only seen one person make it to the top. But from the video it's hard to tell how steep and crazy it was.

I made fun of you for building a jeep (sorta)......I bought a jeep today lol at least it's a cherokee.

Man you should have kept that on the DL. At least you will be able to go with us again so get some tires for that thing.

Also I think I said during the build that the wheelbase was 110 or 109 but it ended up only being 107. Turns really sharp.

Don't worry still have 3 fords on the property. Hopefully I'll be out in the expo in the next year or so.
