1/2 Ton Buggy Build

Looks really good! Can't wait to see some action pics!!

I wanna see a video!

Flex shots?

Thanks guys I'll get some video and flex pics Saturday. I have flexed it with a jack and it has more travel than the 14" front and 12" rear shocks will allow. I should have got a video today full throttle in 2nd gear is a lot of fun.

What you think the weight is?

For the last 2 days the power steering fluid has been overflowing a foaming mess every time I turned it off. So today after trying to bleed it several times by turning it lock to lock and it still overflowing I made this

Clamped it around the filler neck and kept vacuum on it while turning it lock to lock. Did 3 times stopping to add fluid and it's fixed.

This is a family friendly site, you cant post stuff like that....

I think this thing is awesome!

Im currious why you used leafs and didn't run a 4 link / coilover setup for more articulation?

around here the leaves flex more than enough...usually the shocks limit the leaves....

also, it was a budget build....

Leaves work plain and simple. Unless your doing koh shit i dont see the point in anything else. And even then deaver leaves are still good

My buddy keeps trying to prove his fancy link suspensions are better they cost 5x what my leaves cost and i flex just as much with less breakage. Only thing i need is a traction bar out back...

What they said. It's just not that kind of buggy. If it had 60's, full hydro and linked front and back it would have cost twice as much.

Anybody know about 5.0 timing? Propane is something like 100 octane so I set the base timing at 20. Sound about right ?

Factory base timing is 10*, I run mine at 14* but run 93 octane to keep from spark knocking. I think I would put it about 15*, then go up from there.

Googled it and propane is 100-110 octane. Maybe I should put the knock light on it, bought one for a car I had but never installed it.
