01 ranger door ajar light stuck on

so my dads 01 ranger regcab 2wd truck has the door ajar light on but the doors are not a jar i checked them many times it seems strange because the dome light doesn't stay lit up like it would with the door actually being ajar.

The newer rangers you really have to mean it when you shut the door, just shut it a little harder next time. My 00 has that light up when i go around a corner and lean a little on the door. common problem. also, they use flexible strips as switches and not the normally-open-held-closed switch like on older trucks, so they are finicky.

i have been pretty liberal on both doors. but im just going to ignore it.

i took my dome light bulb out of my last 2 rangers cuz those door jamb switches were driving me nutz lol

could take the switch apart and tie the wires together too

I was having the exact same problem with my doors. There is a little plastic switch on each of the latches (2 door or 4 door) I just took the door panels off and unplugged the switches, also replaced my speakers at the same time!

DO NOT tie the wires together it will have the same result you have now.
