personally I like the safety chain loops....even in the yard, ya never know when the "lock" could fail....

also, they can double as tow points:icon_thumby::icon_thumby:

Thanks Railman
I Appreciate your input and yes I'm going with the safety chain mounts they will be bolted on so if I decide I don't like them I can take them off.

Here's the one I built for my '93. Yours looks sharp too. Keep up the good work. You need to have a "strap" around the outside of your hitch (the tube itself). It's for safety reasons (that's why all of them have it)

I had that strap but with it it would not fit between the bumper and valance with out pushing the valance down with out it it fits perfectly between the too maybe i will add one just behind the bumper that would put it about a 1/2" back from the front edge. or trim the tub back just to the edge of the bumper and then strap it if theres room to do that will have to see tomorrow i have it off now. in the pic the tub looks like it sticks out past the bumper thats before it was done it sits back further now. one of them should do the trick. thanks

Not to threadjack, but brinker, why is that strap needed, as in what safety reasons? I've always wondered that one.

My guess;
To prevent stretching from side loads.

Thanks binker
Your advise made me rework my setup. This is it how it sits now with safety strap and recessed back further just have to finish welding the safety chain hooks

hitch

Just got some pics of it now and yes the side mounts are (incomplete) I need to do them in one solid piece of 1/4" steel plate just didn't have any and drill out the sway bar bolts to install larger ones I just did this to get it fabbed up but this will give you an idea how I did it. I might get the next size up ancher shackle this one is 3/4" might go to 7/8"s.
REMEMBER THIS IS NOT COMPLETE!

Fabbed this too

This is how it's mounted ( NOT DONE )

Inside 1/4" bracket hard to see around frame
