This has been an on going problem sense spring. It use to just jerk every once and a while only when driving. It felt like somthing was taking the spark away for a split second. about 2 months ago I put spark plugs, wire, distributor cap and rotor, tps, and O2 sensor. Nothing fixed it. So I just drove it. Last week on the way home from work it had no power and smoked blue at first. got it home bearly running. After checking some things. I found that the engine was getting full fuel all the time when running. Most of the fuel went passed th piston rings and into the crankcase. I did a compression test and everything still was good. After changing the oil I found another ecm- ( I think. the one under the passanger side kick pannel. I replaced it and the truck ran great a bit low on power but no more sputtering or anything. I drove it for 2 days and then it started doing it again. Can anyone help. I can unplug the map sensor and it still does the same thing. What else could tell the ECM to go to full fuel? Im sure its all one problem but what? Please help I need to get this thing running.

Even if you check the fpr and don't smell or see raw fuel dribble out it's a good idea to check or have the fuel pressure checked. If you need a new fpr the price is outrageous at parts stores,I got one from rockauto.com and it was around $35 and got here quick. It's easy to change also.

I think I paid around 10$ for a FPR at autozone. Definitely check the FPR. When you unplug the vacuum line, engine RPM should go up, and there should NOT be fuel passing through there. If you have gas coming out, it's bad. If you are already at full fuel, your RPM may not change when you unplug it (since unplugging it opens it more to add more fuel).

i think the fpr is a little more than that more like 70 80 bucks. but def don't rule out the ignition module!
