Yes, I used Blackstone. Went back and actually read how to read the reports, as this was my first analysis. There was a question mark by anti-freeze, so there was a question as to how bad it may be. I'm gonna have to start doing every other oil change now. And do 3K oil changes instead of 5K.

Lets see them results!

Heres my mine! I do my oil changes at 3k but my truck idles at least 15-20 hours a week. When i first sent my sample to blackstone they said my oil sample looked like that of a similar engine with a 5k oil change so they were concerned. I called them up and explained the idle time and they said factoring that in my engine is running well below average wear. When i switched from mobil 1 to pennzoil ultra my wear numbers went down even further.

These are my 3k numbers based on 3k averages.

How much does an oil analysis cost?

28 bucks. Go to blackstone labs website they will send you a free sample kit. That 28 bucks can tell you if you have a bad head gasket, bad bearings, bad rings, the smallest issue. And they dont just send a form full of numbers, they give you a personal report explaining what they found.

Break it right the first time. Fix it better the next time.

That's pretty damn impressive.

Did a compression check, and have 1 cylinder (#2) about 10 psi less than all others. Most 150 +/-, #2 was only 140.
And then 3 or 4 HOURS after doing it, remembered I had NOT opened the throttle plate when doing the test. Oh well, still all about the same pressure, so not gonna worry too much.
Also noticed more power on the road, but it was in the 30s outside, and last time I noticed the power loss on the hills, it was in the 70s. Sure that had to have at least a little bit to do with it. Everything else seems OK.
